Go4Glory Report

Four unforgettable and life-changing days with 440 participants from 30 nations has created an explosion in hearts and ministries whose after-shocks will be reverberating across the globe for many years to come.

We prepared, we performed, we painted and connected and celebrated God with fabulous freedom, and we will never be the same. Each day and evening we gathered to give God glory at YWAM’s Highfield Oval base in Harpenden, England; offering our gifts, our talents, our bodies, our expressions of love for Him, we united as a family and we are now a force to be reckoned with as we’ve been launched into the nations. Many stayed on to impact England during the Olympic global gathering with the Gospel via the More Than Gold outreach, while others took to the skies, the roads, the highways and byways with the Message of the Kingdom.

From one man He made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any one of us.

‘For in Him we live and move and have our being.’ Acts 17:26-28 NIV

One of our keynote speakers, Eleanor Cardozo, a sculptor, finished her inspiring challenge* to us with these words:

“If we can inspire our own generation and encourage generations to come, to strive for the best, to care about quality and fine craftsmanship and to be responsible for our work’s public effect on society, I believe we can create a change in the heart, a thirst for more beauty and an enthusiasm for life. I believe that a whole society can be moved to another plane of existence through the power of beauty.” (*the entire text can be found on www.ywamcas.org)

From the Fine Arts…

“The last couple days we felt God is up to something and there is one word that keeps coming back within the artists networks in London, and keeps coming back within YWAM, and keeps coming back within the Church ...Freedom. A simple word but we feel God wants to bring us deeper in it's significance as artists. To be free. To be creative and Praise Him in all circumstances, good or bad, praise Him with all our mind, soul and body. We have been praying to know God's heart and we are willing to do whatever He leads us into in this special season as artists from all nations are gathered in London. We have been praying for England to once again become a mission sending nation and for the artists to breakthrough in the spiritual realm to see this happen. We are yet to see this and so we want to step up a notch and ask you to stand with us.” -Noémie Jean-Bourgeault

From the Sports network…* “A strategic aspect that happened was the cross-over between sport, art and music. Take the Bible, 12 drummers, a trampoline, crash mats, cricket bats and balls, a soccer player and you have a crazy time of worship that rocked people to the core with its energy and God-filled passion. .. From a sports point of view it was hugely encouraging to meet new people and also to have our boxes blown up in how sport can be used in a missional context. Sport is worship, sport is art, sport is fun, God created sport." - Paul Baker (*full report on the Sports website)

The key question is: was GOD glorified through the event and we answer with a resounding “YES!”… a “yes” that is continuing to make waves across the nations as artists and athletes return to their mission fields.

We are so very grateful for answered prayers all around: for finances, inspiration, wisdom, protection, and God’s glory to shine upon us and through us! The sunny weather was an incredible and gracious gift, too!

We encourage you all to stay connected through the individual networks, social media and the general Go4Glory Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Go4Glory2012). We have to keep up the momentum if we want to effect an everlasting impact upon our generations for the Kingdom of God.

Soli Deo Gloria (to God alone be the Glory)! Yours for the Kingdom,

Julie Spence
