The Art Ministry at YWAM North in the city of Corrientes, Argentina is setting new trends in the world of fashion. It all started in October 2008, when a YWAM North staff member, Hakamiah Galeano, took part in a competition called “The Third Annual Week of Fashion and Design” organized by the provincial government in the provincial capital. Hakamiah created three original designs which placed second in the competition, and through these first designs, the brand “RaceFusion” was born. RaceFusion is part of the art company called “Art's Creative Heart”, which is part of the Arts Ministry at YWAM North Corrientes.

At the end of November we, Art Refuge, were able to participate in something memorable for the people in our community. As part of the Beaufort Street festival we created an art installation talking about transformational life with God. Within the piece we had several questions and ideas people contemplate during life such as: death, purpose, and identity through a journal entry style. The journey followed the life of a caterpillar ending the journey in an intimate tent where you could discreetly hear things God says to us (like: 'I've loved you with an everlasting love...'). You could also write your hopes and dreams on paper flowers and plant them in the ground.

In July four artists joined forces to work in Mexico City. The outreach was called Art Reach, under the umbrella of Megacities. God started using our obedience, to touch lives right from our time in LA airport on the way there, and continued to touch others and our lives too, through His amazing love, leading and care, right up until we boarded the plane home in Sydney airport.

Last week Frank Naea spoke in the Perth CDTS about the Fatherheart of God.

By Friday the class was so changed that many of the students felt as if they were in a boat on the sea of Galilea.

Frank challenged them to trust God, "step out of the boat" and to walk on water.  He had sand spread upon the floor, asked a violinist to play worship music, had background music of wind and waves playing and a slideshow on one wall of a lake.  Art Refuge was invited to paint a mural of the Sea of Galilee during this entire experience.

In this way each one could be fully involved in a powerful time in which God's presence and healing power was made manifest. Many of the students were deeply moved by this; one couple renewed their wedding vows and another couple (who'd been experiencing a lot of turbulence in their relationship) made a fresh commitment to one another.

It is so amazing to see how God is at work in this school through the ministry of Art Refuge and we are enormously grateful.
